Dear Mother

Mother is not just a title,
It’s a state of being…
A character absolute and unrivalled,
An inspired feeling…

There are times when I wonder,
How you do the things you do…
There are moments when I consider,
The strength it takes to be you…

But what puzzles me more often,
Though an answered question,
Is the driving force of your existence,
The source of all your benevolence…

That your love for family,
Can be so rare and precious,
That your highest priorities,
Will always be the rest of us…

And I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,
When I think of how the stars aligned,
To give me the gift of a mother like you,
A blessing so utterly divine…

Loving you has been my honour,
Being loved by you, a God given favour…
And I’ll be thankful every day of forever,
That Fate chose you as my mother…
