Day on day my prayers waited,
Its answers to be soon elated,
Thereupon she came like snow,
Wild, a whisper like the morning glow.
Pleasure wrapped my very Soul,
For twas her name that Nature stole,
To give my vision and all delight,
To witness Beauty, to blister sight.
Her eyes were grey, like the North,
Windy, ashen with Dreams come forth,
Of holding Fire like her waist,
As fools like me who love and waste…
And still I ponder on her face,
Saccharine sweet with Heaven’s grace,
That martyrs Men and shivers steal,
But with a glance at leisure, may love and heal.
