Naïve

I tried to save your daughter, Lord knows I tried
Not the one to pose with a sword and then refuse to fight

You look at me with hope in your eyes
You find honesty even in my lies

You question me, “Where is she gone?”
“If she had to go like this then why was she born?”

Sometimes our wrongs outweigh the right
And the lone wolf silently weeps in the night

Can’t look at you in the eyes it just breaks my Heart
Maybe it’s a good thing to be kind, but it’s not really smart

In a world full of fake people and emotions, how are you so pure?
Or are you an angel in disguise, I am still not sure

You look at me so optimistically as if I am some God
What do you know you naïve little soul after all you are just a dog
