Lie!

Updated: Jul 5

By Isha Dilshad

In shadows deep, I weave my lies,

A world of masks, where truth denies.

Each smile a veil, each laugh a game,

In this grand play, I'm the one to blame.

I curl in corners, soft and small,

Where whispers fade, and shadows fall.

This room, my heaven, my secret space,

A hidden heart, a forgotten face.

Oh, loved ones dear, please stay away,

Until dawn brings light to play.

Come when I’m bright, when joy is real,

Not when my wounds are raw to feel.

For in this lie, I fear your gaze,

To see me lost in this dark maze.

If you knew the truth, would love still stay?

Or would you turn and walk away?

So let me hide, let me pretend,

Until the storm of sorrow ends.

For when I'm whole, and light can shine,

Then come to me, and I’ll be fine.
