Fear curdles inside me and so does hope.
Sedimented at the bottom of my lung
Say it once then say it twice, you'll forever hold your silence.
And I'd do the same but it's so hard to when there's summer in your eyes
And rain on your skin
And a blood stain on your lip
And with your chest up to the sky
You lay with your heart hidden from the light.
My love, do you see a happy ending?
And as you dance, my heart, it slips out my hands.
And all I can think about is fate at our door.
Will you let it hold your hand? Will you follow it?
Let change be your new lover?
Would it go through hell, trying to get close to you?
Would it nurture every hope you're made of?
Because looking in the mirror is staring at your dead soul and fighting for your love more innate than song.
