Could'Ve Been

By Esha Jaiswal

I could’ve been a traveler. Traveling alone. Back-packing. Wandering.

To pay the bills, I would’ve had a job – a contract based setup, wherein I wouldn’t be tied down to a spot.

I would be

exploring the world at a pace I was comfortable with, humming a tune or singing a song. A lone ranger. A flaneuse. A student. Or whatever. A bag and a cap and myself and I would be set to trek off.

I could have been a traveler,

wandering,

to a land far off.
