Defining My Man

By Amrita Sewani

Carrying the weight of endless duties,

Making everyone smile is his beauty.

He says, “In every storm, stay by my side,”

Yet it’s his strength that becomes my guide.

No matter how much the world may ache,

He smiles again, for our family’s sake.

But does he not cry? Oh yes, in front of me, he does.

Then I hold him tight, his pain I mend,

Until his heart finds courage again.

So calm, so strong, a man so wise,

With me, he is playful, like a child in disguise.

He shoulders the responsibilities every day,

But a little joy brings out his carefree way.

He is the rock that keeps us all secure,

Our sadness makes his strength unsure.

He knows what every heart desires,

But let him know, my sole desire,

It’s him, just him, whom I require.
