In shadows cast, I wander free,
A soul adrift, unfettered, me.
Through tear-stained skies and darkest night,
I yearn to find a glimmering light.
Life's bitter winds, they blow and sting,
Yet still, I soar on tattered wing.
With dreams that danced like fireflies,
Now dimmed to whispered lullabies.
In solitude, my heart does ache,
A void that time cannot forsake.
A hollow shell of what once was,
A shattered dream, a heart abuzz.
In every smile, I glimpse a mask,
A brave facade, a daunting task,
To hide the pain, the sorrow deep,
Within the souls that silently weep.
The laughter echoes through the air,
Yet emptiness lies everywhere.
For in this world of fleeting grace,
I search for love, a warm embrace.
The hands I reach for, they've slipped away,
Like grains of sand, they won't delay.
And though I strive to fill the void,
Life's cruel design leaves me destroyed.
Oh, what I'd give to turn back time,
To find a love that once was mine,
To savor moments, joy, and glee,
When life was still a symphony.
But fate's cold hand, it won't relent,
It leads me on, through tears I'm sent.
Yet, deep inside, a flame yet burns,
A glimmer of hope, for which I yearn.
For in the dark, a star can gleam,
And hearts can mend, in love's sweet beam.
Though life may wrench with sorrow's art,
I'll hold on tight, to my beating heart.
