Faded Glimpses

Updated: Jan 18

By Pooshika S

Gentle touch of the pleasant rain,

Brushed across the earth with feather touch.

Just like a warm embrace except

It was cold and freezing instead.

A soft kiss of rain turned fierce

Into a night that soared with thunder

Just to make sure I’m reminded-

To remember a memory I didn’t want to.

I was helpless though, it was too late,

Only if I wasn’t so deep into this shimmer.

The shine that I could never forget

Yet I wanted to do the contrast.

But there was nothing I could do

Other than zoning out into the rain.

Across the fence, across the mountains,

Across a heart that was never mine.

Yet soon enough there was a ray of hope,

A light which was very similar,

To what I’ve lost, maybe the same.

The light chased away the storm clouds.

A ray of hope turned into my closure,

A closure I never knew I needed.

Colours filled the sky which was dispersed

Dispersed from my light, a rainbow…
