even the beating heart tires.
you keep on grabbing my hair and all I give you
you wait with your head bent backwards
I tip-toe past the creaking door of this home we built
slowly killing you with my song
push me down and out but I’m never gone
georgette and net it holds me together till you’re so far gone
even the beating hand tires
only so many songs that you can sing
to cover for rotten liars
drinking the pain and then throwing the sadness up
leaving knife stabs on my broken back
they might heal as wings or stay as scabs
tears from your heaven down my throat it burns too much to bear.
but I still stay
you move in like a hawk
you tear me apart
climbing all the way up till I flush you out
the chemical in my veins
slowly killing you with my song
push me down and out but I’m never gone
georgette and net it holds me together till you’re so far gone
leaving knife stabs on my broken back
they might heal as wings or stay as scabs
tears from your heaven down my throat it burns too much to bear
but I still care.
