Gratitude Galore

Updated: Feb 22, 2024

Want to thank the morning rays,

Soaking in the gift of a brand new day.

Gratitude expands within me for the ones who gave me birth,

For their untold sacrifices, with an immeasurable worth.

Setting aside their dreams, so mine could take flight,

For their unwavering support, my life is shining so bright.

My heart aches witnessing orphans, longing for care and support,

These innocent souls seek a haven of forte.

But blessed am I, to have the warmth and support of grandparent’s grace,

Their lovely memories etched in my heart, that I would forever embrace.

Nothing saddens me more than witnessing a lonely soul,

Lost amidst the crowd, feeling empty and cold.

In the company of so-called friends, their isolation grows,

Touching my heart, the depth of their woes.

Gratitude swells within me for my best friends, a cherished few,

Their steadfast presence, a testament of friendship, is so bright and true.

Through thick and thin, they’ve stood by my side,

Their moral support , guiding me through the darkest tide.

For the less fortunate, deprived of a meal’s delight,

Saddened to the core seeing their hunger’s plight.

Lucky am I, for the nourishment that energizes my soul,

Gratitude for the gift of food, for mending me as a whole.

Empathetic to those who were denied the chance,

To be blessed with education’s igniting dance.

Privileged to break free from the clutches of cruel fate, with a conceived information,

Gratitude for being endowed with an impeccable education.

While the whole world curses the alarm’s noise,

Their heart remains thankless, drowned in selfish poise.

For the precious gift of life entrusted on thee,

Gratitude for one more day bestowed upon me.
