Hindu Rituals: Are We Genuinely Opting It?

By Yukti Bhandari

Hindu rituals are diverse in its own golden route as it strives to achieve dharma, which is a code of loving that emphasizes good conduct and morality. Culture unites mind and spirit. In a nut shell , it is a way of life to bring spirituality into human life and inculcate feelings of devotion and religiosity. The most common rituals practised in all Hindu households are

pooja , meditation , silent prayers , yoga ,

bhajans, reading religious books,

participating in satsang.

But, what if these rituals have taken the shape of business? Sounds strange! Here are some points to disclose :

1.) Cinema :- Movies are considered as one of the powerful tools; in terms of reflecting complex subjects of society such as politics, inequality, environmental concerns, and social justice . The trend of visual effects especially in mythological flick industry is getting worse day by day. The evolution has altered the storytelling pattern, resulting in so much deviation among the youths that has left a confused footprint in the core history of our culture.

The Indian cinema is not making any attempt to increase the extend of the content ; only in the race of profitability.

2.) Animal slaughter :- In order to please the God or kul devta ; some morons kill those innocent creatures. Does god appreciates these sacrifices ? According to me... they are living beings too... how God can be happy offering this type of ridiculous sacrifice... In first half you are chanting mantras .. asking god for divine connection , blessings etc. but on the other side you are consuming full amount of non - veg just in the name of holy God ... I am also a kshatriya by caste...but I don't support any form of animal abuse.

3.) Appointments to meet God :- Yes ! you heard it right.. some big celebs, or even politicians who even don't know about the rituals faithfully ; arriving from their respective private jets and helicopters, are allowed first to visit the temple... leaving awaited to those staunch devotees in the long chain of crowd. It shows how you are treating Dharma , which is owned for its spiritual attraction like an event of business..

According to me these are the most relevant points that must be first examine in the society. There is a need to govern the activities of Indian mythological movies made by them so that the basic purpose could me fulfilled. The audience should also choose their content with full of attention , keep the antenna strong while watching the trailer so as to avoid the negative sentiments.

Complaint should be registered under the Animal Protection Act , and the person committing animal abuse should be behind the bars or heavily charged with fine.

To every problem there is a solution here it is "we", to bring out the change , first our mindset should be changed .
