I Am Proud And I Am Grateful Being A Child Of An Air-Warrior

I am grateful and I am proud of being your child.

Not just me, even my grandfather was.

You made two generations proud.

It is just not me who is saying this, those letters speak themselves (which my grandfather use to write to my father)

I can remember you reading those disassembled weapon sketches (book for promotion exams)

I also remember you wearing that sky blue shirt, that camouflage uniform, that winter uniform (dark blue blazer-tie), that Overall(uniform).

And there has been time which I do not remember (as I was a toddler)

But I get to know a lot from my mother.

Kargil war was one of them.

She could not contact you for straight three months.

Those TDs (active-duty other tour) and all just made her stronger and stronger, independent, she really a strong- hearted woman.

I use to wonder why he is so rugged and strict and always so frightening,

This rigorous and challenging job take out every ounce of your mental and physical strength,

That sweetness goes away.

I know and I remember those evening firing range schedule of yours, those PT, those night duties.

Those weapons can change anyone I felt.

I believe every other soldier’s life is inspiring.

I wonder if we get to know each and everyone’s life story.

No, I guess I might be caught up by our intelligence.
