Sear all the lovely memories
Of the people and the places that I love,
With a red hot poker in my brain,
So that I never forget
The exact moments
My love for someone grew.
So that I never forget
The things I want to remember forever,
Down to the smallest details,
Of the people and places that I have loved,
Am presently in love with,
Or will be in the future.
I wish I could've memorized better,
The feel of my dog's velvety, wet nose,
The smooth feel of his fur,
And how soft his ears felt within my hands.
I want to remember better,
The games I played with my sister as a kid,
The make believe stories and traipses around the house.
I hope I remember forever,
The buildings of my college campus,
Even with it's god awful multicolored walls,
The rooms of the friends that became family,
Even the ones who stopped being friends at all.
Most of all, I'd love to learn by heart,
Exactly how my room is,
The first little space of my own in this world,
I hope I never forget,
How it felt to finally be able to be me with me.
