In The Summer

By V. Karthikeya

All over the world, these days the younger generation is moving into bad deeds such as spending more time on technology, lack of determination and dedication, and even failing in respecting elders. This story is intended to explain all the morals.

IN THE SUMMER …

Bun stall and Granny:

Pre-story by granny:

1999, it was AUG 24, and also the marriage day of my son, for their love they gifted a cute little boy with bluish eyes, and brown hair. They left, Aarnav near me as they were going to have long-distance travel on behalf of their office work. But, unfortunately, they met with an accident and lost their lives, at that time Aarnav was only 3 years old. So, back then we moved to the streets of Japan.

Now, Aarnav is 18 years old and we started our bun stall for the sake of income.

Present story:

Granny opened the bun stall at 9 A.M., and Aarnav friends visited the stall and had their breakfast as their school is on the same street. Later, the brutal gang entered the street as they owned that place in the past they started threatening all the people to pay them the amount as wage every day and also smashed granny’s bun stall. Due, to this granny's situation, turned very bad. Then, for the daily meal, Aarnav started doing a part-time job cleaning the waste in water pools, carrying and placing the rooftop cement material [flat bricks].

After one week: Aarnav's friends felt weird as they sensed their friend is hiding many things from them. So, the next day after school they followed him and noticed his work, then all of them together enter the water pool to help their friend, they were not bothered by Aarnav's words as he said this water will harm your legs. At last, the work was done and Aarnav received his payment. So, he said thank you to his friends.

One month later: Aarnav and granny walked out of the hospital room, granny asked his grandson, “what did Dr say?” he replied grandma Dr assured him that it was just a headache and will be cured if we follow this medicine catching slip noted ALZHEIMER’S – middle stage.

One night as the lights were out granny started trembling, Aarnav was searching for the torchlight he found one but it was out of battery. So, he instructed his grandma to be seated on the sofa I will be back after buying the torchlight.

After 5 min:

Aarnav reached his house with torch lights, granny catching a stick and moving in the entire place as Aarnav was placing the torch light all over the place. Then, granny started beating Aarnav saying to get out of my house I don’t remember you, but Aarnav with extreme sadness tried to make granny remember. Listening, to the noise neighbors entered the house, holding the granny tightly, and asked Aarnav to get outside immediately as she was terrified seeing him.

Then, he reached his school premises and sat on the steps, then his friends who got out of the school knowing the entire situation tried to make him calm. The next day, all of them went together to the Aarnav’s house and started entertaining granny, all of them sat on the roof of the house talking, and parted. As it was the end of the school all his friends were chosen from the universities according to their grades and they waited for Aarnav's decision, he exclaimed that I am not getting into any university, I just want to be with my grandma and want to travel with her, make memories before she loses her memory. Even, though he was the top student in the term exam he chose his way to be with his grandma. This says us, how hard and desperate it is to handle relationships.

In this technological world, lazy youngsters never bother about any relations or things happening around them. Aarnav was the person who took all the pain for turning the entire negative situation into a positive one and even chose his way to take of his granny and plot so many memories by turning down his ideas of getting into a prestigious university. Now, it’s time to choose the way you want to live.

Either in the technology world or the path chosen by Aarnav [i.e. Morals and relations].
