Leap Of Faith

By Prashil Karapurkar

Locked in a dark room

Despair surrounds

The chilly air

Takes its sadistic rounds

At a distance

 I see a flame

Battling the darkness

Playing a mighty game

As I walk towards the flame

In need of  'glow'

Darkness conspires

It's intentions, show

The shackles of air

 Pin me down

Darkness silences me

It nurtures my frown

Fed up of darkness

I need the glow

I'm a fighter

Darkness needs to know

The shackles must break

The silence must fall

I must grab the glow

The darkness must stall

But to attain the glow

 I must not slack

 I must walk

The carpet of Black

I look at the carpet

No sign of glee

Treachery hovers

Oblivion I see

But to reach the glow

 Courage, I ought to make

A leap of faith

I ought to take
