Letter From My Mirror

By Shagun

Dear my human,

I have often seen you avoiding me these days so that I can't guess about your sufferings, but trust me I know you. I have seen you since you were a kid. I have seen you as an innocent child and then a teenager with a rebellious spirit, and I am seeing the tired adult who doesn't live, just trying to exist somehow. I have seen you the same in happiness and sadness as well. Nothing makes you as happy as 'mere a bit of chocolate or some toy brought by your parents from an everyday tour of the supermarket' made you once. Nothing much matters to you these days, all you do is go to work and eat just to fuel yourself, go to bed not to sleep though only to keep tossing around in bed during the whole night and repeat this routine every day. You don't look very enthusiastic about food. I remember very well how you used to cook different cuisines or travel to far

places just to explore new food. These days you barely eat the food, rather it feels like the food eats you. You look at it like it's some poison, and you are being punished to eat it. I also know you don't sleep well these days, I don't even remember seeing you sleep like a normal person for a very long time. You come to bed as if to lay behind the quiet darkness of night. It looks like you sleep not to calm yourself but forget about your existence. You are always so quiet. You, rather than a human, look more like a robot who is being punished for some reason. What happened to you? Why are you punishing yourself like this?

I am not designed to voice my thoughts else I would have told you," Life is tough because it wouldn't go as you planned. Sometimes I may but the majority of the time it won't. But even if it didn't go the way you wanted doesn't mean it's of no use now. Things might get a little hard now but in the end, it will always lead you to where you are supposed to go. Have a faith in yourself and your dreams. If one thing doesn't work find a substitute for it and change the direction, not your destination. You have all the options in the world except to give up. If you would give up on your dreams then you will find something else to keep you busy for a time and when that will become a little harder you will run away from that as well and that will keep happening again and again. You won't run from your priorities or your dreams but from yourself. And how can a person ever become happy if he's constantly on a run from himself? At a certain point you have to stop, so why not now and focus on the present? Just keep working and believing in yourself and see how things will start working for you if not today then tomorrow and if not tomorrow then the day after it but trust me, someday it will.

Only two things will get you through life, dreams and hard work. So, keep dreaming and work very hard to make them happen. If things aren't going your way, then build a new way. No matter how hard things are right now, someday you will get through it. I promise you this, my little human. Keep fighting for your dreams, your passion and everything you want from life, you will get it all one day.
