Life in the times of plenty is undeniably more convenient for our kind than it was before. It is the reward of an incredible amount of labor done by our previous generations for the privileged life we all live today, and we shall not make the heinous mistake of taking any of this for granted, even for a brief moment.
It is a known fact that privilege has made us lazy. Like our elders used to walk for miles, look through countless tattered books to search for answers, use their water very carefully, and so much more. Now, everything for us is just one click away. The answers to our questions are in front of our eyes in less than a minute, and the groceries are at our doorstep in less than an hour. Maybe all this access to everything has made us less appreciative of what we have that makes us use things pretty recklessly sometimes, and our arrogant approach towards life surfaces.
One strange thing many people do is villainize the fact that we live lives where we do not struggle as much, which is unfair because if things have been made convenient, we might as well utilize them - with caution, of course. It seems like people who had to struggle in the past are subconsciously jealous over the fact that people do not encounter the same struggles as they did, and this deep-rooted jealousy makes them bitter when they see the current world bloom.
The conclusion is if we do not respect what we have in plenty currently, it will become scarce one day. Utilizing what is available to us is not a sin, but exploiting and disrespecting our resources will lead us to darkness with not even moonlight to help us find a way out.
