She wants to place the spoon in the spoon holder
Mom wants to hang the same on the pegboard
Spoon looks fine at any of these seats
But the rules for the kitchen have already been set
Once again, opinions clashed, she lost
Because of an unwanted rule that has been set!
She got wings, got a room, and some roomies
Said bye to the ghost of rules, for new stories
Yet again, roomie number one set rule number one
“Don’t dare to share the bed without a shower”
She slept on the floor that night
Thinking it is her fault and can’t fight!
Roomie number two came up with rule number two
“Everything should fit only in the place where I have set it”
Open tin of curry powder, scattered pieces of laundry
And all the placeless objects set the house on fire
Everything has been sealed, now she has no right
Her quiet suggestions went unnoticed, so there was no fight!
Now comes roomie number three with a strict convert
“From sink to washroom there cannot be any dirt”
Structured hours and controlled routines
Caught her care-free mind, of no regulations
She lost her ease of work, yet double-checked
And still got blamed for an unnoticed mark.
They whispered to her “Make yourself at home”
A home where she can't have a bed on her wish
A home where she can't place things on her wish
A home where she can’t relax on her wish
In a house full of unwanted rules
She lives with her unspoken views!
Are you living at home?
