Ocean Doesn't Stay Still

By Apoorva

In a world where lands collide and made mountains

We created an ocean of tears and treasure of feelings and secrets

Our memories floated here and there

Scattered

Shattered like glass bottle on the shore

Sun on the water was golden like your locks

It was almost as bright as your presence

If I had it my way, I would dive deep to get you the pearl rightfully yours, sitting still.

Alas the child in me traded gems for rocks

Found my desires in a puddle

Stomped my feet only to get them dirty

Now I stand and the waves won't even stay

They brush off your evocation

And go back, almost mocking me on my foolishness.

I left the ocean

Now the ocean doesn't stay still
