By Abhinav Mylavarapu A good read, though, can be as satisfactory as a good ride. In the case of a good ride, one might have to travel a long way down the road, or carry with them an extra load, but in the end, the journey’s worth dust in gold. In the case of a good read, one might not be familiar with the author’s style, or may need to spend an extra while, but in the end, there’s always a genuine smile.
Neither am I here to plead, nor summon you to read. But I would be glad too if you could find some read to be glued to. But why should anyone, for that matter, read in the first place?
A word speaks a thousand pictures. Sounds strange, doesn’t it? When you read something, each word opens up a new world in your own imagination. If there’s a story about a horse, some might imagine a brown horse, some might imagine a black horse, or someone who’s confused might actually imagine a donkey instead of a horse. Whatever it is, a word has the power to speak with each of us individually.
However, getting the context of a word out of a page may not be as easy as letting a bird out of a cage. Initially, the vocabulary might look freak, or the words might sound greek. With each passing page, however, your worlds start to couple, words start to look simple, and even a tiny example, could bring in excitement in ample.
As you continue to read, you feed yourself with lots of words, breed lots of thoughts, and thread lots of dots. If you just read fine , you can not just refine, but can also redefine yourself.
Reading also opens up a new dimension within you to express yourself. Not everyone has the skill and courage to express their opinions through voice, so expressing them in the written form would become their obvious best choice. Other than letting your introversion bother you, you can rather become an author by letting your own thoughts.
Well, what’s late? Start reading anything that comes close, be it a story, poetry or prose. It might pave a path to live past memories, learn vast theories, liberate your creative treasuries. And remember, you are not just reading words, you are reading worlds, and finally reaping rewards….
