I was bullied at school because I was a shy kid and one day my best friend, Shrenu, suddenly left school I was still a kid so the reason was kept a secret from me, but that changed my attitude and made me angry After that incident, my mother told me to write down any disturbing things that happened to me on a paper and throw away that paper in dustbin ever then I began to behave in the same way whenever something horrible occurred nearby.
I finished both my primary and college studies, one day I got news from a schoolmate that Shrenu's mother had passed away; the reason was divorce and social expectations, from that day if anything happens in our society, I ask myself: Am I indirectly responsible for this?
We live in a society where we want rich people to donate but will never donate a single penny ourselves, we want a safe country for women but will blame women if something goes wrong, and we want a supportive son-in-law with a good nature but will always consider how much property he has, we want no one to abuse their daughter because of her skin tone, body type, & a lot more yet when choosing a daughter-in-law, we take out a list of beauty standards...if a child cries, we either punish or simply hand over a mobile in the hands of the child instead of questioning what is the reason for crying?
In recent years, we appear to be losing our culture and principles, the way we promote vulgarity and indecency is having a major effect on our culture, my heart is disturbed by such things because it is critical to think about the medium through which we are spreading this trend and where it may take us to the next generation.
Some of the messages delivered through television, movies, and music are humiliating, Producers are constantly looking for new and 'bold' ways to attract audiences for that, they ignore morals, they reveal something that is leading us apart from our roots, How far down does somebody have to go for fun? These effects can also be noticeable on social media people aspire to go viral and get fame when we come across certain individual videos or posts, we wonder if this is truly our culture what purpose will be served by taking advantage of so much freedom?
The image is the same in schools and universities, Children have cell phones and are viewing disgusting information these factors are influencing their mental state, and their conduct is changing, how can teachers and parents put a stop to this? So, do you truly believe we are not responsible for anything that happens in this society?
We are going to suffer the consequences of society's behaviour our culture, values, and identity are disappearing that is why today, we should all work together to put an end to this trend, our thoughts, actions, and society require renewed attention only then can we make real progress.
So, if you believe you are educated, or whatever you think, believe, or say is correct because you are educated! Let me remind you that education is more than simply a degree from a higher education institution.
It is also about supporting truth, standing up for yourself, and standing up for others who are right, all of which will contribute to true growth in our society.
