Solid Eleven

By Amaara Sha

With her innocent smile, sweet as marshmallow,

Amidst all blue, there was an unknown yellow.

Searching her way in the new place, she found herself a spot,

She is definitely a nerd, is what everyone thought.

As time passed, her new day was hell,

She was chased down in the end, after the bell.

No one noticed her, except one,

"Will u be my friend?" she heard, and it all begun.

That formal hello, that unexpected handshake,

Those good morning greetings, that Amul milk in snacks break.

Pure vegetarian she was, stuck with a chicken lover,

Their moment of bonding was the love for their mother.

Days passed, they bonded and became close,

Unlimited phone calls to pulling each other's nose.

Through tears and joy, fighting and complaining,

The unlike poles, understood the act of balancing.

That one moment created something new; it was a gift from heaven,

Not for one year or two but for solid eleven.

Time passed, priorities changed and things became terrible

But love remained, as the connection of heart, is indeed irreplaceable.
