The Art Of Loneliness

By Megha Das

Van Gogh goes to a bar

would he dwell on his scars?

or rather grabble his creative jar?

One hand in reality, the other dreaming off far.

You're lonely

and not alone

not when they don't understand you

not unless you understand you.

A 20-year-old birdie's confession-

we are the loneliest generation.

Why does an infinite possibility of proximity

create an abundance of scarcity?

To be detached from self and

present in the world, absurd

at one and the same time.

Albert Camus did chime.

Would you rather

be attached to self and then discover

the beauty

of lonely tranquility?

If you ask my limited opinion,

Loneliness does not have a negative connotation.

Who have an appetite for inner conversations

will never be fed full with worldly alliterations.

The art of loneliness

in the most crowded place

comes with a heightened sense

of awareness.
