As soon as Akram came back to his senses, he tried to rush back to the restaurant. His legs suddenly felt a surge of energy. He looked like a hungry dog trying to rush to grab the piece of bread. However, the bread he was starved for love. All Akram could think was about Roy. Mind-deafening thoughts with only one name.
“Roy Roy Roy”
He mustered the courage to finally get his lips to move along with his leg. With gasping breath, he muttered “I shouldn’t have left you just like that. There was so much I wanted to say. I waited 41 years to meet you. Now that I finally found you, I could only present a rich, ungrateful look towards you. I want to say I love you finally. I want to hear what you would reply to me. Will you smile with your eyes partially shut and lips arched all over your face with those teeth showing from the front? Like I first saw you. How will you react, my beloved?
How,…..how……..
Finally, the protagonist reached the restaurant but the one he was looking for was no longer there. Akram in desperation asked the waiters but no one could answer. Finally, an old woman heard this commotion and replied.
“That man you are talking about just left a few minutes ago. I think he turned left from the exit..”
Without even thinking the old lady with partial grey hair. Akram exited the restaurant.
Finally, he was able to chase down the boy who was going slow while smoking a cigarette.
Akram gathered all his energy to shout for Roy
thuddd sccrrrchhhhhhhh
“What is this? Huh? Why am I feeling warm? Is someone finally willing to take me in their embrace and giving a hug? Ahhhhhh no….. it's my blood..so warm…..”
A car has hit Akram on a road which he was trying to cross…..
People are gathering to see what has happened. The ambulance has been called but panic is not dying down. There is only one thing which was dying was Akram’s consciousness”. Random strangers whom Akram hated are now giving me which could be the final act of kindness.
However, Akram’s eyes are still looking in the direction where his love went….
A siren could be heard from far but seems like it will be late or maybe not….what an irony for Akram. The one he loved, the one who was actually a doctor, the one who pledged to save lives couldn’t do anything. Roy is on his way back without knowing that one person who destroyed everything for him without knowing could be bidding farewell to the world….
Numerous thoughts are in Akram's head but as he tries to say something, his lips are sealed. Before the world turned black for Akram. All he could do was smile and think in his head…
“ahhhh, look ammi, I am carrying your sufferings till the end”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*Ringling of the glass bangles due to washing dishes*
Akram, Akram, wake up!! Don’t you want to eat breakfast?
[Suddenly everything turns bloody muddy and a tear falls out of Akram’s eye.\
He slowly opens his eyes just to realize that everything is a dream. As reality brushed his senses, a numbing pain engulfed Akram’s heart, and finally when he couldn’t keep it together.
“ahhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhh, ammi, ammi, I am sorry” and the same repetitive rambling continued…..
Hearing the commotions, a man in a grey attire rushed in through the door and screamed
“sir is having a panic attack again, where the fuck are you, Shabnam”
The man in his 20s screamed “shabnammmm” as if he was about to die not the man in front of him
thump thump
A loud thump can be heard and a woman with black and red hair who looked like in her 40s entered.
With a panting breath, she handed an injection to the guy who was called Rumain.
Rumain grabbed the injection and stuck it carefully in the buttocks of a man who was trembling and crying like a 4-year-old lost in a crowd from his mother.
