The Eldest Daughter

By Umaima Areesha Ansari

She wears a smile , though her heart may ache,

Carrying burdens for her family’s sake.

The eldest daughter, a pillar unseen,

A quiet warrior behind the scene.

Her laughter rings, a shield so bright,

Hiding the shadows she braves each night.

She mends what’s broken, she lights the way,

Though her own dreams often fade away.

Her sibling’s joy, her silent creed,

Their every triumph her only need.

She stands as a guardian, a powerful guide,

Drying the tears, letting love abide.

The weight she bears, so many words untold,

A story of courage, so brave and bold.

In all her struggles, she stands tall,

Facing the storm, reusing to fall.
