The Empty Cradle

By Agrima Arya

A strong gush of breeze blew by Something felt facade bout it

Stomach wretched yet no pain

Tears fell while lamps lit

Memories bygone,

Of who, what and when

Of the time we spent

Of the feeling's blend

The womb I knit

For the one by my side

Embracing the soul

Of eternal bliss

You felt me to the core

with all your heart

You upheld me,

just to tear me apart.

The good old days

As the folks used to bid

Never really understood

But now, finally, did

Alas! She was gone

Gone with the wind

That once rejoiced our dawn

And all the joys within

Moments forever cherished

Frozen in time

For the sake of love

Which was never mine

Which could never be mine.
