The Fake Degree

By Tushar Shekhar

You know the biggest mystery of life is what “Everyone here lies”. When I was in 10th I was told “Beta 10th tak ache se padhai kar lo” 12th will become very easy for you. When I reached 12th, I was told that you just not need to clear intermediate rather you have to concentrate on concepts to pass good graduation college entrance test, when I completed college I was told jobs are not easy to get these days you need to focus on computer programming, when I completed courses on java python and R, I was told that you do not have a computer background you need to have a computer degree for entering into IT sector, I somehow spend two more years and completed MCA, then I was told that very few city in India have IT companies so you have to move to south India for better opportunities at a very less package as IT company offers very less salary for freshers, I went there and in a very few months I realized that my saving were approx. zero, my earning and expenditure were almost the same, sometimes expenditure overcomes my earning and I go into negative balance, Soon I left my job and return to home for other opportunities, where I realized that I have spend almost twenty seven years of my life in taking degree and in search of job, and I have only 3 to 4 years left for all competitive exams and interviews, I started searching for almost every type of job in my home town where I at first found the post of librarian on a job site, but they were

demanding B.lis and M.lis degree, which I don’t have, I started searching for colleges that will gave me these degree as earliest as possible on various social networking sites where I came to know about various consultancy firms who were providing even back date degree, I spent almost double the money of college to purchase those degree but still in all process it took 6 month and now the same college who has announced recruitment wants candidate with degree as well as experience for librarian post, I went to educational consultant again and he told that he will arrange a fake experience certificate from a local school, when I got the exp letter after spending some more money I went to college for interview and they single handedly rejected me telling you have experience of just one year we have people of 5-10 year exp so we will prefer them, I got totally demoralized and started searching for job again where I found a computer teacher post in a school, where they were demanding MPhil degree along with MCA, I again went to consultant and he arranged a MPhil degree for me in just two months for thirty thousand rupees, when I went again to interview they once again rejected me telling you have got just sixty one percent marks in MPhil whereas we have candidates of eighty five to ninety percent, so we cannot consider you for this post, the man now totally get shattered and left searching jobs, when he was on the verge of thirty years of age he somewhere heard that govt has announced the intake of student in an NGO on the basis of MSW degree, he searched and found that MSW is provided by very few college in India, seeing govt job he thought of trying his luck last time, he again went to consultant and after spending sixty five thousand more he purchased MSW degree, and started preparing for the exam, today he reached the age of 35, the exam never happened after form filling, now this man owns a computer institute of his own and advices his students that they should focus on computer programming as job is not easy after graduation these days and laughs inside after recalling his own memories.
