The Goodness Within

Updated: Jan 17

By Aksa Shafi

We often wait for fate to bring us delight,

For good things to happen and our lives to take flight.

But good people forget, in their noble stride,

To cultivate goodness deep within their own inside.

They focus on giving, on helping others grow,

But neglect the garden of their own soul's glow.

They forget to nurture, to water and prune,

The goodness within themselves, which is the greatest boon.

For when we tend to our own hearts with care,

We become the source of goodness, beyond compare.

We radiate kindness, compassion and love,

And attract the same energies sent from above.

So let us not forget, in our quest to do good,

To cultivate goodness, like a garden, as we should.

Let us nurture our own hearts and let love shine through,

For when we do, good things will happen, and our lives will renew.

For goodness is not something that happens by chance,

But a choice we make each day to cultivate and enhance.

So let us tend to our own goodness with gentle care,

And watch as our lives transform with love and goodness to share.
