To the people this end was definitely on the horizon as the researchers made it very clear a decade back that there was no denying the transformation at the core of the sun. It only started dimming. With every subsequent turning of the earth, the people started feeling the sun’s light and warmth last a bit less at half a fraction until that particular point in time when everyone was standing over the threshold of concern. What used to be a nurturer for everyone had become nothing more than a faint whisper of a memory, for many.
A message spread across the world as the last day reached when the centers had decided to put the sun down for the last time, people were already disheartened so there was nothing new to equally add or make them feel different. Out of all those variations they were also able to adapt in such a world when there was no sun, when the night was endless, when summer, spring and all the other seasons were lost to a world of endless night. The cities became home to this world of flickers, where light was nothing but a cage, holding the lives of perhaps millions of despairing negligence.
But the devastation that accompanied the Greatest Last Troll also seemed too extreme to put into words.
As Violet looked out her Apartment window, she was instantly taken aback by the sights of Sun rays flickering beautifully at the horizon. Although it was extremely light, she could barely make it out. However, she could not quite fathom the fact that she was witnessing the last flickers before the sun finally sank at the darkest of times. This saddened her but it was all captivating enough for the core.
“Do you have any plans for tomorrow?” Eli asked, his eyes fixed on the window as he spoke to Violet.
Violet swiveled around and faced him. He has not been the same since his announcement. He was reserved and appeared to be busy with his thoughts. It seemed to be crushing him from all sides.
“Not sure at the moment”,
