To the one who grants second chances,
Won't you set your eyes on me?
Bid farewell to your abode in the sky;
Won't you set foot on the ground for me?
You gifted me a place;
Somewhere in space and time.
But the tale is out-of-date.
My due is yet to be paid.
In winter, the snow falls black.
Birds lost the will to sing in spring.
Cold drops of metal pierce through in the rain.
And autumn's here to stay.
How could I outrun a fast forward world,
With a spirit as old fashioned as mine?
Gravity fell on it's knees,
Before the weight that held me down.
What could have been me,
Buried six feet deep within.
What's little was left,
Turned down the rest.
The sky remains the same,
Despite all it has served witness to.
Down below,
Melancholic memories never lost sight of the shore.
To the one who grants second chances,
I was someone before I was a sad story.
I still remember how I stood before I fell.
How I loved before hurt.
To the one who grants second chances,
I ask you not to roll down a red carpet my way.
My entrance has been delayed.
I didn't have the smile some would have called beautiful.
But it did made me wonder why.
Time is not on my side.
Will I ever know why? A lifetime is all I need.
If there's someone up there who grants second chances,
Won't you set your eyes on me?
