The Second Sight

By GV Ashmitha

I stood surrounded by metal

And metal-hearted people

Amidst the busy corridor

Slowly losing myself to my madness.

Amidst the chaos rises a sharp voice

Directed at me, my ears pain,

And my wavy hair bounces as I turn:

He's so tall.

And fair with kind eyes,

Eyes that bore into mine

Eyes that seemed to know everything

About me

Soothing and warm

As if he had known me for an eternity.

The crowd around me disappears

And the lights dim in my head

As endless stream of silent words gets exchanged,

Spell-bound I stare,

At the guy who woke me from my madness,

With his silent stare.

The scintillation from that day

Keeps me going till today

By making my heart beat like crazy.

Like crazy.
