The Silent Goodbye

By Saumya Chawla

Your smile now, a memory to be cherished.

Our laughter, now that sounds haunted.

The memories spent, now starts to fade.

I was familiar with your presence,

I am starting to now get afraid.

Your struggles,we couldn't unwind.

The pain you hid inside,

We couldn't define.

When we understood, it was too late.

Losing you was a play of fate.

Your memory stays, a bittersweet pain,

A vocal goodbye, went in vain,

We remember you looking at the stars,

Unaware you were hoping to be one from afar.

Rest now, my friend, in a peaceful place,

I hope you found there your own space.

We'll hold onto memories we once shared,

I hope in death, you've found solace spared.
