The Triumph of Light

By Sumit Bhatia

Hope begins as a flicker,

A fragile ember in the shadowed night,

A quiet defiance against the dark,

Whispering, Hold on. I’m here.

The storm howls, the winds rage,

Yet the smallest flame endures,

Sheltered in trembling hands,

It refuses to be extinguished.

The night may seem endless,

But in cannot silence the dawn,

Slowly, surely, the horizon blushes,

As light breaks, playing a melodious song.

Each sunrise is a promise,

Each morning, a declaration:

The darkness is not eternal,

And despair cannot outlast the light.

Even in the deepest abyss,

The sun waits above, unseen yet faithful,

Pulling us upwards with its warmth,

A silent vow that we are not alone.

Hope smiles silently,

Peeking from the quietest corner,

As darkness surrenders,

To light that triumphs. Every time.
