There Was A Girl and She Still Exists

Updated: Jul 25, 2025

By Lorraine Margaret Christine Reay

There was a girl who was new

To her school, she met her first

Best friend hoping she would

Never leave her side.

There was a girl who cried

Everyday at school for she was

Scared of what people might say about her.

There was a girl who got bullied

For being different and she wasn’t

Accepted by the others,

They bullied her till there were no tears left

For her to cry,

And all they did was pry.

There was a girl whose classmates

Didn’t like her cause she never did well in school

They’d criticize her till she felt black and blue.

There was a girl who loved pleasing people,

She tried befriending the world but realised,

They left her feeling crippled.

But one day, there was a girl who had found a friend,

To support her in times of need and love her to the end,

She met her in sixth grade and her name was varrsha,

And she was her kindred spirit and helped

push her further.

Ther was a girl and that girl is me,

And she still exists in spite of all the things

She has seen.
