To My Bestie

By Yashvi Raval

You gave me a situation

& I thought I will write on it

But I ended up with something else

Something, that for a long time I wanted to express

& it was time I put it in a phrase.

All that long jhoola talks

You gave me time, it means a lot.

When everybody wants someone to rant on

You are the person I am always looking for.

You understand me better than anybody

Even if you don't realize

Consider me lucky

Having a friend like you it's all that I've been dreaming.

You appreciate and bring out the best in me

They say these things ain't free,

But I am willing to pay every penny

You are a far more worth than money.

It all started with me being jealous

And turned out to be my best friendship ever

All thanks to the 2019 summer break

We took the opportunity we could take.

Then on one random day you asked me a question

The answer to which was a secret

And that's when the jhoola came

I told you everything within seconds, without hesitation,

And I knew whom to trust

Forever and again.

Here we are today with you knowing everything about me

And I don't hold a single regret

This world can sometimes we fake

But seeing you and talking to you everyday

Just makes it a piece of cake.

I can't say what you are to me

But take it as a halo to an F1 car or shining to its star

With this poem I cried my heart out

Hope you feel as special as you are.

I hold on to our friendship when the world is against it

They say it won't work out

Maturity and age difference would cut you guys out.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not up to the mark

Not fulfilling the role the same as you are

But I promise I'll try my best

And hope you will see that.

Dear Bestie, trust me on this, mark my words

I swear in this poem and if it is real,

10 years from now will come back here

On the same jhoola next to each other

And have a long talk about how we came back

Saved our friendship and did all that we promised.

All the memories and more to come

I will cherish forever

We have a long race ahead this is just lap one

But I want you to know girl

I love you more than 3000.
