Unheard

He meant life to her, 

For she saw her world in his eyes.


He meant hope to her,

For she felt protected in his embrace.


He meant peace to her,

For she treasured every moment with him.


Years passed;

There she sat, near him

And talked about her days.


He listened,

Not once did he respond.


How badly she wished that 

Graves could respond too!


It was then that she realised 

Her grief never lessened; 

She just learned to live with it.


And when she was all by herself, 

She got pulled into the abyss of the past again.
