As we slip through the cracks of time damned,
Caged, cursed, incarcerated like beasts of yore.
Nothing glows more than the soul awakened,
An unlocking, that has never happened before.
Governments will come as they will go,
The blame game won’t help the stricken world.
Race and color don’t matter, all lives do,
Humans discriminate, viruses just get unfurled.
The existential truth we so ardently search,
That screams it’s too short a day to be selfish.
Lies beyond the wall, we are afraid to breach.
While we wait for our numbers to diminish.
Who said that the promised journey will be easy?
Who said you won’t have to run that extra mile?
Innocents will perish for the sins of supremacy,
But in the end, the arrival must be worthwhile.
What do you risk but your insignificance?
Why can’t we change, forgive and mend?
The time you feel everything is decadence,
That time will be the beginning, my friend.
