Secretly, I quite enjoy heartbreak.
Trust, I do not enjoy the process,
but I have come to fall in love with the principal.
Someone,
has filled your heart with so much love,
that their absence has left you feeling shattered beyond recognition.
You were filled with enough life,
that for a moment in time,
You held each other's hearts.
Maybe in the end you traded back again,
but their fingerprints will forever remain tainted on your heart,
just as your fingerprints will remain on theirs,
The imprints may get covered up by new ones,
but they are never truly gone.
Never fully forgotten.
Some fingerprints run deep, burning their mark into you,
And other barley graze the flesh,
but even still we trust our hearts again and again.
For the only thing more devastating than heartbreak,
Is it the end of it all,
To peer inside the wall you painstakingly built in your own chest,
Only to realise, that now,
Your heart, after tireless work, will stop beating,
Completely, and wholly untouched.
