Rape: Objectified

It is a fact that our lives have been
At stake since the day we were born,
Cause every time a cloth is bought,
It’s always too revealing and always too short.

What is to blame
According to you?
Is it the clothes
Or the lipstick brand new?

Why would they manufacture
Shorts to not wear,
Cause we get raped in Burkhas
Anytime, anywhere.

You keep us locked at home,
And yet we’re still not safe,
Yet we are still raped,
Even when you don’t let us escape.

There is a common link you see,
And it’s not our clothes or sexuality,
It is the mindset of all of those
Who take advantage of our muffled screams.

If no means yes,
And yes means yes,
Are screams and cries
Also a yes?

Wherever you are,
However you are,
If they tell you to stop,
You stop.

No matter how much you want it,
No matter how much they need,
If they require time to think,
You need to let them be.

It is a fact that our lives have been
At stake since the day we were born,
Cause every time a cloth is bought,
It’s always too revealing and always too short.
