Scorched Love

Our love was a comet
Beautiful, passionate
Fleeting, now gone
Minerals, their atoms
Burning a bright blaze
Through the galaxy’s gaze
At its end, the path disposed
Left a husk, stead of a soul
Such was the tale, treasure fleeting
Such were stakes, pain repeating
Static, I strode, down a rabbit hole
Never ending, ad infinatum
Only to emerge, a broken bird
Scorched and subdued
A pallid shadow, left to perish
Broken dreams an exhibit.
